What we do: 

We are an all-volunteer board here to serve our neighbors and act as front-line points of contact for the neighborhood to the City staff and City Council members. We plan several in-person meetings each year as needed to inform Houghton Neighbors on plans and issues impacting our immediate vicinity and quality of life. Through this, we offer opportunities for neighbors to engage city staff, city council members, advisory board members to express their opinions and wishes and take action in other ways.

We have the ability to send feedback on behalf of the majority of neighbors on issues and projects impacting Houghton.

We host an annual Houghton Summer Soiree, formerly the Houghtdown as a celebration of our community and opportunity for neighbors of all ages to come together each summer.

We had our first-ever Houghton City Council Candidate Forum in October of 2023 and intend to make this a regular event for you to meet and see the candidates and hear them answer questions about issues relevant to Houghton and South Kirkland.
